Hey Jean, I use the A1U as a B cam to my Z1U and have been quite pleased. It does have limitations of a 1 chip camera so lighting is always a concern. I've done a lot of outdoor side by side shooting with the Z1U and the A1U and with a slight Color Correction added to the A1U, you can get reasonably matching shots. My biggest complaint about the A1U is that it's a 1 chip camera for 2500, and the bottom loading tape system. I believe there is a shoe you can buy on ebay that will allow you to leave the tripod shoe on while changing tapes. I have only borrowed a couple of JVCs and found them to shoot a nice picture. I have not used the model you asked about. 1 thing to consider is that each manufacturer has a certain look given by their cameras straight out of the box. In post, you'd like to limit yourself to as little CC as possible. Hope this helps.
Kind Regards,
Chris K.
