Sony DSR-PD100A camera on 16x9 setting

Would like to know if this DVCam camera, which has a 16x9 setting in the menu, is anamorphic or native. The instruction book doesn't say.
Will the 16x9 footage edit full screen or with bars on top/bottom? My Producer wants to mix it with DVCPro footage in edit and wonder if it'll cut OK.
