That is definitely a 170. The front of the lens guard is another giveaway as the 150 was different.

As for the noises, I can't really say. All cameras make some amount of noise if you listen closely. So I couldn't say if what you're hearing is "bad" noise or not.

My guess (just a guess) is that if you have to hold your ear up to the camera to hear it, it's probably not a big deal.
