Connected to WHAT computer(s)?

What happens when you connect the computer directly to a VIDEO monitor?

If the computer is designed to send out an NTSC (standard video) signal via S-Video or composite, then you CAN record it on a standard video recorder (or camcorder (if its designed to record an incoming signal.)

Note that I said "standard" video.

Can the Z1U record a "SD" incoming signal? Is it set to do that, or "HD"?

Too many variables on your end for me to judge from here.

Check all of the above.
