Sony handled this same problem with my VX-2100 with a quick turn around and the green tinting problem fixed. The entire repair was covered under the warrenty. The repair order was as followed:
MOUNTED C.BOARD,CD-
PRISM ASSY (SERVICE)
MECHANICAL DECK
CONSTANT NO PICTURE
REPAIRED PARTS
REPAIRED PARTS
REPAIRED PARTS

The repair was done in Laredo, TX. and I was extremely happy with how fast I had my camera back, considering Sony paid for all UPS shipping across the United States.
