Speaking of Timecode ...

I got a pleasant surprise while testing my new Sony DSR-450WSL camcorder: You can set timecode values even in DV mode. Unlike my Sony DSR-250 & PDX10 (and many other Sony DV cams), settable timecode isn't a DVCAM-only feature. Nice.
I'm curious: Did Sony first start using this approach with the FX1 & Z1 HDV cams? Can these cams set TC code in DV, DVCAM & HDV modes?
All the best,
- Peter
