Paul GreenFCPX Time line Properties question

Hello everyone

I was hoping one of you gurus can help me, I working on what will be a PAL DVD project to be authored in DVDSP however the “compilation” videos are in different resolutions and ratios.

Some are in 720 x 576 (4x3) whilst some of the videos are in HD 1920 x 1080 (16x9).

I am working in FCPX so what is the best advice for putting them on a timeline together in order to hold as mush quality as I can.

1.Should I “downgrade” the HD material “before” I drop it onto a SD timeline

OR

2. Should I go for a HD timeline keeping the HD material as it is and “drop” the SD material on that timeline?

Can I thank you in advance for your help.

Paul
