I would just move all the events into a new "Final Cut Events" that FCPX made.

Remember on the startup drive it has to be in the movies folder in your user folder.

On external HDs it is on the root level.

I move events in and out of the Final Cut Events folder all the time no problems at all. As long as you don't change the content of individual event folders this should work fine.

Your problem may be that FCPX only sees folders it made.

By the way only do this when FCPX is not running. When it is restarted it should see everything.
