Exporting to W3D from Maya
by evrard blom on Sep 9, 2009 at 10:08:02 am

Hi,

Seems like exporting w3d from Maya has become one of world's mysteries after who cuts the barber.

Back in Macromedia era there used to be that SpeedPort 3D xtra that did the job from within Director (obj to w3d). On Maya side there used to be a Shockwave3DExport plug-in native in the software, but recent releases apparently removed it.

My question is: how the heck do you go into defining a pipeline revolving around Maya and Director to deliver interactive 3D content for the web? Do you know alternative to such a pipeline (as iam ready to kiss goodbye to Director and Maya both of which i spent so many years to pass the learning curves. My content project is more important to me than the technical skills i accumulated so far)?

Evrard
