While on the subject of using movies non DTS ... one of the potentially coolest 'creative' things you can do in Director is this thing:
- Set the video's Member properties to DTS off, looping to on (preferably) and the rest to default.
- Set the video Sprite's properties to Moveable(!) and to leave Trails(!!)
Put the movie on Stage, and set Director to play. Now click on the movie and drag it around, and see the screen fill up with 'echoes' of previous frames as the movie plays.
How cool this looks depends on the movie of course. It should probably not be too big, so that it is convenient to 'draw' with (yes, this is an idea for a pretty unique drawing program), and the edges should not be just uni-colored - but this depends on of course.
All these features/properties are available in Lingo of course, and you could for instance create a virtual 'video wall' quite easily.
