So I haven't even started trying DaVinci resolve, when a friend of mine opened up his studio to work with Assimilator.

Problem is he has no time to show me how it works, and google is not helping me.

So basically what is the workflow from FCP 7 - Assim - Compressor or FCP 7 to Assim to FCPX?

Also, the footage is from the 5D, using cropmarks for 2.35:1 is there a way to add a matte for composition also?

I tried to look into the manual but it seems like a lot technical terms I don't get them all yet.
