Actually, the forum where this is most being talked about is the FCPX or Not: The Debate. Despite the name, it has become the forum where people talk about general issues, rather than application-specific problems.
There are a bunch of threads coming at this from various angles, but one thing I noted: if you're a current Adobe customer, going back to CS3, you can get the subscription for $29!!! The price is good for as long as you don't cancel.
I'll be honest, I hadn't really been paying attention to this before now, but at $29/mo. I think I'm in. Seems like I'll be losing money if I DON'T do this! :-)
