Raul DederichsConverting frame rates and deinterlacing... some fast magic trick?
by on Apr 21, 2012 at 4:10:11 pm

Hi,

I am in a mess editing footage covering an event... some was shot H264 1920x1080 23.976p and some more was shot in AVCHD 1440x1080 29.97i, the latter being the one of some rather long clips of people talking.
Now before anyone tells me to get different footage lets just say I have to deal with what I have... to make matters worth I have to do this on a rather slow PC.
My Idea was to deinterlace and convert the AVCHD footage in AE using Andrew Kramer's magic script and then color correct away to make both pictures match, however when I threw the first 17 min. clip on the render cue it estimated a 22 hr render time... is there some sort of magic software that can do this any faster? Anything...? And what will be the best codec to preserve the biggest bit rate and color depth?

Thank you for your constructive inputs!

Cheers!

A.P.
