You need to consider the viewing distance.
Your audience will likely be sitting 50-100yrds away from the screen, so the 30' screen will only take up a tiny portion of their field of view, making 416x224 resolution comparable to looking at the screen on your cell phone at arms length.
The content already playing at the venue is most likely at the resolution they have asked you for, so go there and see if it is mushy, if not then you are probably safe making it at 416x224.
