Sorenson confirmed this in a reply to my post on their forums.

Episode 6.3 does it well and if you use CBR it is VERY fast to do an h.264 for review on a Mac Pro with multiple cores.

Sorenson is loosing so much business from this. They loose their builtin Avid users.
