you would get better quality using your MBP because you could go displayport to DVI (~$30 dongle at apple store) to the projector directly and skip the scaler (which does not have DVI in I believe. If you can play back the file in native Prores422 by making a self contained .mov using source codec, open it in QT player in full screen then you should be fine. I would make 2 versions the "best" one and a lower bitrate (~25-50mbit/sec) optional one when you get to the venue try both and see which one works better.
