if your system locks up randomly...

I have 2 recent mac towers running 10.6.8 (might also apply to pc)
CS 5.5 then upgraded to CS 6 on both.
Both have quadro 4000s.
one of them began randomly locking up.
i thought it was a bad quadro and almost returned it.
did memory tests and a bunch of other stuff.
long story short, it was the cs 6 installation.
whenever I tried to use adobe media encoder with a clip over a minute it would lock up.
sometimes kernel panic. sometimes premiere would freeze.
I was about to format and redo the entire system installation, then it occurred to
me to uninstall cs 6, then use the cs removal utility from adobe.
then did a new install of cs 6, ran the updates and everything is fine now.
