Couple of Workflow questions

Hi, I recently switched from final cut pro to Adobe Premiere Pro CS4. I'm glad I did this switch because it's much easier for me since I use after effect and photoshop a lot.
However, I got some small questions, mostly regarding the interface and my workflow.
1) On each clips, I can right click, "show clip keyframe" and change the displayed keyframe animation shown on that clip. The default is obviously opacity. How do I change that default?
2) Is there a way to put effects on a whole track instead of adding them on each independent clips?
3) If not, what would be the best way to easily apply the same effects on several clips? I know I can select them with cmd + click and then copy paste the effects, but is there any other ways of doing this?
I noticed that I can't add effects on more than one clip at the same time (if I select two or more clips at the same time)
Is there a better way to put the same effects on more than one clip than using the Nest fonction?
Thanks I lot, I'm probably gonna have more questions but that's it for now.
Thanks!
