Great links. Most of that information is dated. But, still pretty relevant in terms of workflow.

This is what I'm really looking for; What equipment do you use to get good results. Furthermore, what specific pieces of hardware and/or software is recommended for my scenario given in the first post? [Editing a few hours of footage down to a few minutes, and exporting for the web.]
