Am I correct in assuming this is a notebook? I won't say that it won't work, however there are many issues involved with getting video and dual notebook monitor setups to work. First to consider is the that video RAM is shared. The other is to be careful to use the correct video drivers for that notebook. I have found that in some cases the video chip manufacturers drivers work better than the notebook makers drivers and in other cases I have seen the reverse is true.
I would try to change drivers first. If no joy, than you may want to consider a fresh OS install.
