The Type of work you are trying to do is more an After Effects thing. That program allows you to see beyond the workspace using the hand tool. I'm not sure what you want to do as far as detail goes, but you can make the monitor window fullscreen by positioning your mouse over the monitor window and hitting the tilda key (~) under the Esc key.
You're 10% can now probably go upto 50%.
