Still get Errors with Quicktime 7.3.1

I've read many threads about the problems with Quicktime 7.4.1 and the need to revert to the previous version in order to work around PP export issues. Oddly enough, until recently, I had no problems with PP and QT 7.4.1. It was After Effects that was having issues exporting to a QT file and so I reverted to version 7.3.1. This resolved my AE issues but now I'm unable to export QT files from PP. I've tried going back to 7.4.1 but the issues still isn't getting resolved. I'm getting the dreaded "Export Error" that reads "Error compiling movie. Unable to create or open output file."
Anyone have any suggestions? I've had zero luck finding any threads online about this specific issue. Any help is much appreciated!
