PPro is being used by professionals all over the world. There is a bit of a learning curve for using it, but nothing major. If you are doind home videos you might find that the transitions that are packaged with PPro are a little shallow and/or you have to make a lot of modifications to them to get some of the looks that you want. Also the output settings can confuse some users. there are many standards and best practices that Prfnls learn through the years that might just get in the way of your creativity.

The text functions are good but again most Prfnls would have added plugin (+$) or a second program to create really great text effects.

For your needs as a home based user that does not want to muddle through all the dials and switches that PPro has and still wants HD quality and easy to use "eye candy" i suggest going out and getting. Sony Vegas Studio.

this is your video editing, titles, transitions, 3d effects, dvd authoring software and MUCH more all in one. and it is cheaper too.

good luck
