Re: Extraneous Code? Error Message in Encore
by Bill in Toronto on Jan 4, 2008 at 3:46:30 am

Hi,

Thanks for your suggestion, Mike. I made the timeline as large as possible, and I could not find any empty frame.

What I did find at the very same exact location and frame referenced in the Encore error message was the end of an avi + audio clip. This is the last clip of the edit. I had unlinked the audio from the video, removed some applause from the music, and relinked the clip with shortened audio. On the Audio clip I put constant gain crossfade at the end. I guess I should try removing it and just smooth out the clip by adjusting the track volume. (???)

Because of a short deadline and the holidays, I played out an AVI movie, and successfully rendered 62 minutes to DVD in another, older programme, with no problem at the point in the movie said to be in error. Earlier, running it through Encore had produced the error code, you may remember.

But I'd still like to get to the heart of the matter, because I will still have to use this edit in another situation, but would like to know how to fix this problem for Encore, since it has Dolby, subtitles and I can manually adjust various streaming rates, etc. (I would also like to try out Flash, although I still prefer Quick Time in h.264 resolution. But that is another story...)

Thanks again, Best Wishes in the New Year. The forum and its participants, and the expert gang are a great group to be appreciated.

Cheers,
Bill in Toronto
