John,

You can get rid of the RTX2 if you don't need to do any real-time corrections/editing. The benefit of the Matrox card is that you don't have to wait for certain tasks to render (ex: real time color correction, transitions etc. ) However, if you have a fast enough system with plenty of memory, the RTX2 doesn't help that much.
