Importing FCP DV-PAL Quicktime in Premiere Pro CS3
by Neil Sadwelkar on Oct 18, 2007 at 6:39:51 am

The subject should actually be
Importing FCP DV-PAL Quicktime in Premiere Pro CS3 tryout.

On a system running WinXP and Quicktime 6.5.2 not registered to QuicktimePro. Can't get to import a QT from FCP to edt in APP.

APP CS3 help lists Quicktime.mov as a supported format. But APP doesn't seem to recognize and impport the file for editing. I did give the file a .mov suffix. And Quicktime does open and play the file normally.

So is it that the APP I'm using is a tryout, or the fact that QT is not Pro? Or does Quicktime from a Mac not work on APP on WinXP?

Also, what about the timecode in the Quicktime movie. Will APP see this TC and after edit carry it in the EDL?

Anyone actually using this workflow?

FCP Editor, Mumbai, India.
Completely PAL.
