Automate to Sequence crashes Premiere Pro 2.0

If I select more than about 3 clips from the bin, highlight them, and select 'automate to sequence', I get an error message that says 'PPro has encounted an error and must shut down program. I've never had this problem before with this feature. I've selected up to 80 clips before and have them all move to the timeline with the transitions in place.........what gives???
