Thanks for the legwork John, but what I'm referring to isn't an auto shutter vs manual shutter situation. With the EX3 I can set a manual shutter setting or I can turn off the shutter entirely. The viewfinder information actually says "shutter off". The NXCam works more along the lines of the PD150/250. If memory serves, those cameras had a shutter on all the time as well.
