I really loved this article. I myself have been thinking quite a bit about ways to apply the aesthetics from classical art into my cinematography "style." Being a young film maker myself, and coming from this new YouTube generation, I definitely see how such great aesthetics can so quickly be overtaken by a "well I guess this looks good" mentality. While many can achieve good looking shots just by having a good eye, I believe and hope that those who understand, appreciate, and respect the history of visual aesthetics will obtain the "edge" over those who do not. I think it will really show the difference between those who just like the technology craze and those who actually enjoy and live to tell compelling stories.
