I've said it before, put a lousy editor in a 2 million dollar suite and you've still got a lousy editor.

All the technology in the world does not make you a storyteller. When I look at an editor's reel, I want to see entire stories from start to finish. Preferably with little to no graphics or effects. Anybody can throw a filter or a flashy transition on video.

Too many of those folks who call themselves editors today simply know how to push buttons and that Red is not just a color. But make them cut a cohesive story with nothing but cuts, that just isn't going to happen.
