No, you just switch over to the "classic" version of the site and make sure your cookies are set to On so it will set that as your default. More sites are becoming iPad savvy, but in the meantime, you just have to reset them yourself.
Also look in the App Store to see if your favorite site has an App. For instance instead of going to huffingtonpost.com I use their App to directly to their stories faster.
