a Blender workflow related question...

Anyone have experience using Blender and Nuke together in the same workflow? I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed at the moment, just having made the move from AE to Nuke and now needing to find a specific workflow for my new project. I have some chromakeyed footage I need to add to an environment I created in Blender. I was hoping to send the Blender environment into Nuke for compositing, but even though the meshes import flawlessly in their positions, I can't seem to get the materials to play nice inside Nuke. I don't have much experience with UV unwrapping for external applications, so between that and being a Nuke newbie I'm getting lost in mountains of information which may or may not be helping my situation.
Anyone have any suggestions for alternate workflows, or do I just need to pin down the specifics of the path I'm already on?
