Currently, the MacBook Pro is not powerful enough to compress 1080 in Apple ProRes 422 (HQ) on the fly during capture, but this will improve as mobile processors become more powerful.

Having said that, with MacBook Pro5,1 model (2.4GHz) and HDX-SDI, we were able to capture 1080 in DVCProHD and lighter versions of Apple ProRes 422 codec family.
