hey bob, when i first posted this question, i thought we were going to put the RED Rocket in our color correction computer - RED Rocket, Areca SAS card, Kona LHi, PEG1, oh crap, that's too many. knowing that the RED Rocket won't work with another capture card, and that it wouldn't be the most efficient computer to put a conversion card anyway, makes this question somewhat less pressing. but i'm still looking for an update because my clients are always looking to max out the available slots with things like SAS local storage, Matrox Compress HD cards, eSATA, etc. so it's not the cost of the card, it's the cost of losing the PCIe slot. and this is the only generation of Mac Pro with this issue, which makes it even more annoying.
