Problem solved!
Was a combination of OS up dates, Jumbo frames enabled in the Ethernet hard ware settings in network settings, driver update for the Small Tree card, flash firm ware updates on the R680 (writing volume), enabling Multiplexing in the NVRAM for the R680 and setting the transfer size on the R680 to 16MB.
Definitely the network as well as the IO on the read write volumes were presenting bottle necks independently.
Small Tree gave me great customer support and were able to trouble shoot my network over the phone and net. Huge kudos to Chris the guy knows what he's doing.
Conclusion is if your trying to setup a high speed network talk to Small Tree. You need someone who knows their stuff as there are to many variables to guess your way through it.
