paolo zuniga...too much Tripod?
by on Apr 24, 2012 at 3:37:38 am

Hi, I'm hoping my pals at Creative Cow can provide some insight regarding my current Manfrotto tripod. I'm an aspiring filmmaker and videographer who uses a t2i dslr camera for multiple projects. In an attempt to find a "good" solid tripod for my setup, I bought a used Bogen Manfrotto 503HDV/351MVB Tripod (see pic below) a couple of months ago. Based on prices I'd seen, I got a good deal on it.

My concern, however, is that after lugging it around for various projects, I'm starting to think that it might be too much tripod for me. It feels a bit cumbersome at times, especially that bottom brace.

My question is: anyone have any thoughts on my choice in tripod? I should downgrade? If so, any suggestions on what to downgrade to AND still have a reliable tripod for dslr?

Thanks!
