I'm personally very pleased the 8.0 beta is going well. Thank you for testing. The team here work day and night to make it as stable as we can.

NR is very GPU intensive and the code is fully optimized. NR will not operate on the OpenCL graphics systems at all. We expect as faster CUDA GPU's from Nvidia become available this will be less noticeable but in the meantime, see if NR Radius setting 3 is enough to reduce the noise as this is a sweet spot for the Mac.
Linux uses with the new 4 or 8 GPUs can have multiple 2K NR nodes in real time. We don't try to make the Mac slower and there is no difference in software, just the GPUs available for Linux have more CUDA cores.
