If you're comparing 4:2:2 signals from component vs hd-sdi, it should be the same. Assuming your signal path is clean all the way through. D-A on the output side, cables, and then A-D on the input side. HD-SDI is a YUV 4:2:2 signal. so you should be ok with analog component monitoring. Personally prefer a digital path as I think it's easier to tell if something is wrong, analog is more forgiving :)
