I finally pulled the trigger and upgraded from a Macpro 8 core 2.1 to a 12 core 5.1 running Lion in order to migrate from Apple Color to Resolve. I've read the various posts and suggestions here and am still a bit confused. A few questions:
I have an Intensity Pro card. Will this work or will I need to upgrade? If so what card?
The computer has a 5770 card and I understand that this must go in place of a GT120 card. Is the GT120 card still the recommend? I thought the new 5770 was a big step up from the GT120card.
DaVinci recommends a GTX 285 but some people are using a GTX470. Opinions?
It seems like the main vendor for these cards is Macvidcards in Los Angeles...unfortunately they are closed for the next 2 weeks. Any other vendors recommended?
Any other info as far as cards into which slots and drivers wold be appreciated.
