Scott,
Since the ProRes 422 codec requires significant CPU resources for encoding and decoding, a computer with at least four CPU cores is recommended. Currently the Mac Pro is the only Apple computer that features at least four CPU cores, but we have successfully captured and played back 720p 30fps ProRes 422 (HQ) footage with Apple's latest generation MacBook Pros. The MacBook Pro is also powerful enough for standard definition ProRes 422 capture and playback. Further testing is ongoing.

Best,
Dave
