But then you say:

"What I can not seem to get working is to have Premiere play the video back using the V4HD and the display attached to the HDMI port."


Are you getting video output from the V4HD to your HDMI monitor at any time?

What is the frame rate of the Premier playback? Are you sure your HDMI monitor can handle that frame rate?
