poorly stabilized pan

So I have a bunch of pans, that come out looking very 'stagey', the pans are not smooth, like the tripod was grabbing as the camera man panned.
Can I fix this with Lock and Load. Ive never used the Lock & Load for something like this, and Im nervous the footage might be unusable.
FCP Tracker seems to do a decent job, but not quite, so not good enough either. So far Lock & Load is not working as well,
