capturing f900 help!
by nayim saati on Oct 20, 2009 at 10:08:05 pm

In a bit of a big jam here heres the issue:

i got some HDCAM tapes that were shot with the sony-f900. I am trying to capture them and having some difficulties. The tapes came back with the 30p mark checked off on the label of the tape (the deck also says 30p>>1080 as read from the tape) so i set the deck frequency to 29.97Psf and it plays fine. but when i capture the video and then check out the results the video plays super fast and the audio is obviously way out of sync... im not entirely sure what capture presets to use on my final cut. im capturing through my aja card on my apple G5 btw. also im trying to capture all onto a g-raid 3TB hooked up firewire 800. so anyways i dont exactly see the perfect capture settings out of my aja options in capture preset. any ideas?? i need help! sorry im just starting out and am trying to learn all the frame rates and frame sized and shooting modes but not there yet...

please help!
