For digital cinema distribution you'll need your final film in 2K, either scope or regular. You will need to edit it so it has the correct separation for a cinema sized screen. It has to be 24 frames a second, and needs to be converted into a DCP (digital cinema package) by a companies (like ours). You will also need to choose the format licensed by dolby... realD etc, as for the moment this changes the final packages encoding.

For a DCP to be made, you need to supply a TIFF sequence or DPX, with separate audio tracks.

And that's about it. If you don't want to get into XYZ color spaces etc, but to start with if you supply those specs to a company to create a DCP, then you can plug that into your local multiplex, throw on the glasses and kick back!

cheers

Mick
