Also worth mentioning is that in AE's "3D Glasses" effect, the convergence slider doesn't want to fine tune that well, even with the command key depressed. I found it easiest to find fine convergence in keyframe mode (shift-F3) on the timeline. I add a keyframe and pull it up or down to find the best look (i.e. the least doubling of images).
