Richard BrowneStereoscopic workflow with Metafuze
by on May 24, 2011 at 2:27:08 pm

Hello folks,

Hitting a small glitch with our workflow on our first 3d project here.

We shot HDSDI into a Convergent Design Nanoflash 3d from a Panasonic AG-3DA1. We have the camera original files and the Nanoflash MXF files which we wish to take into Avid for the Offline.

The problem:

We've installed Metafuze and are attempting to use it in accordance with Avid's 3D Stereoscopic workflow guide. We have folders containing the Panasonic .mts files and folders containing the Nano MXF files, files are sequentially named and we want to pair shots up for use in MC 5.5.1. When MetaFuze scans these folders, though, it doesn't pick anything up - it seems to scan through the files and read contents but doesn't think that there's anything there to group together. We've tried renaming the files to have rich names, tried moving them into single folders and tried some tests with Avid MXF files which had been previously transcoding and then copied from a Unity workspace, all to no avail. We've tried MetaFuze on jpeg sequences from other projects which it picks up fine.

Does anyone know if Metafuze will read Nano MXF files and, if so, why won't it read ours?!

Cheers
Rich
