I consider Eisenberg to be the "thinking man's Michael Cera". He has the same mannerisms as Cera, but doesn't have the goofy reputation and can act in dramatic roles Cera could never pull off (see: The Squid and the Whale). In fact I struggle to see Cera ever being in a truly dramatic role in the near future, as the mere glimpse of his face indicates you're in for some sort of oddball comedy. Eisenberg can do the comedic roles (such as Adventureland and Zombieland) and still be able to continue the dramatic roles (as I've seen in trailers for the upcoming films The Social Network and Holy Rollers).

That being said, with all the negative things said about Michael Cera, he's been in a handful of great things (Arrested Development, Superbad, Youth in Revolt) and sure he is at the moment kind of a one-note type-cast actor, but Bill Murray has been doing the same routine since Wes Anderson put him in Rushmore over 10 years ago, and no one ever rags on Bill Murray. Well, that's probably just because he's Bill Murray actually... I suppose he's earned the right to do that.

Michael Cera probably should have waited until after he did some diverse roles before he settled into something, or maybe he just knows how to make a lot of money in the business capitalizing on the fact he still looks like an awkward 17 year old kid at the age of 22 or 23 or whatever he is.
