Actually that question about firewire ports is very good since one wouldn't be able to figure out what's actually going on inside the Mac just by looking and every the cursory specs aren't clear.

Unless something has changed in the internal design recently, all those ports are just on a single firewire bus. Thus only one camera can be "trusted."
