Sharing: Using an Alpha channel from an OpenEXR image
by Todd Groves on Feb 28, 2009 at 9:02:03 pm

Sometimes when I'm learning a new program, Nuke in this case, I try to share ideas I come across when I'm trying out things on my own. So today I was experimenting with my first multi-pass OpenEXR image rendered in Modo. I knew to use the Shuffle node for separating the various passes. For some reason, Nuke called my Alpha output "other", even though when you look in the drop down it says "other-Alpha Output".

Anyway, here is how I used the Alpha channel from the OpenEXR image to comp the image over a background. I don't know if this is common usage, but I thought I'd share my experience.
