Seeing how it's an OTS, can you just keep it as a movie file? This way you'll have more flexibility in using it for Effects Ins and Update Ins. I ONLY use LTV files for full screen animations.

I'm on a Mac so I export from AE with millions of colors+ (straight alpha) on any movies that need a key. I create everything in its correct place at 720 x 540. I then drop that into a D1 comp (720 x 486 rect. pixel); THEN I use the crop (ROI box) to crop what I need as small as i need it. This is what I animate out with millions of colors+. I've loaded Quicktime onto our offline PC and Lyric so that it recognizes these movies.

Have you tried doing this?
